DIY Polishing a badly oxidized/pitted aluminum fuel tank – High Speed Sanding

Hey Guys,

One of the most asked questions in polishing aluminum is how do you get a perfect shine? and the answer is very simple… it’s all in the Prep… is you prep your surface properly removing all the imperfections and creating a perfect smooth surface. You will achieve great results period! Here’s a little video on how to do just that. enjoy!

Using a High Speed Backing plate with a 3000 rpm polisher I sanded 180, 320, 400 and 600 grit
Cut at 6000 rpm with orange/yellow pad and 439T Green Menzerna Compound
